The Organisation

First Languages Australia (FLA) is the national peak body that works to strengthen all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander languages. FLA connects language communities across the country and empowers them with resources, skills, and knowledge to preserve and revive their languages. 

FLA works with a network of partners to achieve meaningful change and support language revival. Their goal is a future where all Indigenous language communities have full control over their languages and can use them according to their preference.

The role

The Senior Policy Advisor- Indigenous Data will support First Languages Australia in its work as the peak body for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander languages, and the Languages Policy Partnership – a historic partnership with Australian governments on Closing the Gap.
